Global mobility and security
Brussels, March 25-26, 2010
The workshop will examine the opportunities and challenges that information and communication technologies (including biometrics) provide for the mobility of people and information. The workshop will focus on: governance and policy-making processes regarding identity management systems; the multifaceted prism of fundamental rights to privacy and security in relation to the implementation of biometrics, body scanners and other detection technologies; and cyber security of critical information infrastructures.
The aim of this workshop is to promote the overall involvement of stakeholders in the setting of technological policy within the EU that deals with security and detection technologies.
Workshop sessions
The workshop is divided into three sessions to discuss the issues described above. Each presentation (except introductory lectures and round tables) will last 20 minutes and will be followed by a 10-minute discussion.
